Day 1 · Monday, 19 October 2026

Understanding AI and using it responsibly in ministry

Move from curiosity to a useful, safe first ministry workflow.

What we will work through

  • Understand what AI can and cannot do: drafting and pattern-finding, not spiritual authority or guaranteed truth.
  • Write clear instructions using role, ministry context, task, approved sources, constraints and output format.
  • Practise checking facts, Scripture references, tone and cultural relevance before sharing.
  • Protect pastoral confidentiality: use fictional or anonymised examples, not counselling notes or membership lists.
In a Ghanaian ministry context

A Kumasi church needs a short agenda for volunteers preparing a community clean-up. Keep responsibilities clear without including private member details.

The hands-on project

Your ministry prompt starter kit

Turn a fictional church planning brief into a volunteer meeting agenda and a clear announcement. Compare a vague request with a structured prompt, refine the result and identify what still needs human review.

What you will create
  • Three reusable prompts for your own ministry responsibilities.
  • One revised meeting agenda and announcement.
  • A personal “verify before sharing” checklist.

You can brief an AI assistant, evaluate its draft and retain responsibility for every published word.

Day 1 of 5
The Friday showcase

A project for your church.
A plan to use it responsibly.

Choose one pathway and build on it throughout the week. Present your output, demonstrate a realistic use case and explain who reviews it before it reaches people.

  1. 01

    Teaching & content pack

A reviewed sermon outline, devotional, quote designs and interactive study brochure.

  2. 02

    Church operations pack

Meeting actions, an event plan, a checked budget and a clear leadership report.

  3. 03

    Outreach & follow-up plan

Consistent communication, a consent-aware workflow and a practical engagement plan.

Come prepared

Bring your ministry context,
not your confidential records.

  • A laptop if available, internet access and a willingness to practise.
  • A Bible, a passage or teaching topic, and non-confidential ministry notes.
  • One real ministry challenge you would like to improve.
  • Fictional examples instead of member lists, giving records or counselling information.
